  1. UK Patriots 2018 Superbowl Party (SOLD OUT)

Thank you to everyone who attended last nights event (wasn't quite the party we hoped for). I hope everyone enjoyed their evening if not the final result. It was really good to meet up with some old friends once again and to welcome some new people along. I hope to see some of you at other events that may get arranged in the future. Particular thanks to those who made some serious journeys to there, those of you way up north, the other side of the wall and of Markus coming all the way from Switzerland. So we're on to "2018 Season" now, lets hope we manage to pick up some defensive talent either in free agency or the draft. Congratulations to all those that got lucky with the squares game (still haven't been able to win my own game yet)
  2. (IP: 82.20.190.143) Posted January 6, 2016 (edited) This years Superbowl Party will once again be hosted by the Marylebone Sports Bar & Grill on Sunday 4th February 2018. At this point in time, we have exclusive use of the Scarlett Bar, providing we have a minimum of 30 people. With some slight rearranging of the seating we can get a maximum of 40 people in this area. Therefore places will be on a first come basis (receipt of payment being the determining factor) Other factors are basically the same as last year, so the cost is an all inclusive £30 per person, which covers admission to the SB & G (remember they have a £10 per person door charge on superbowl night). Food as per the set menu below and service charge (again SB & G usually add 12.5% to all food bills, all the time) Food is: Cheese Nachos with dips on the side Chicken Wings, with Carrot & Celery sticks and dips Plain Burger in a Ciabatta Bun. Mixed bowls of French Fries & Chunky Chips BBQ Baby Back Ribs (usually enough for a couple each) Payment in full will need to be made to me by Monday 22nd January 2018 Remember, this event will take place whoever is in the Superbowl. If the Pats are there, like last year, then it's a bonus and makes it an even better night. There is a Travelodge literally next door to the venue, but they don't seem to have any really tempting deals on at the minute. There are several other budget hotels within a fairly short distance of the SB & G, or you just get the first train out of London on the Monday morning. Please indicate your interest here and also PM me a current email address and I'll send the bank details to make payments (same as last year for any returning people) List of Attendees (Confirmed & paid) Swindon Patriot + 4 WelshLancsPat Grecian Patriot Deadly36 Patriotsjay JVTUK Tamish Swiss Patriot Carl03 Wycombe Patriots Darius87 Jaco mablc001 + 4 rob@foxboro + 1 Buddfox Simon89 + 1 Glasgowpat + 1 Nedpears WilforkPlanet + 1 Old Glory Matt + 3 Warren + 1 Waspie Rossitron
  3. UK Patriots 2018 Superbowl Party (SOLD OUT)

You wont be getting in via the back door on Superbowl night Neil. But yeah, first there will be the cheapest round of the night.
  4. UK Patriots 2018 Superbowl Party (SOLD OUT)

Hi Neil I should be at the venue by 10pm. I imagine a few of the others may also be there by then, or round the corner at The Allsop Arms.
  5. UK Patriots 2018 Superbowl Party (SOLD OUT)

I'm assuming you actually meant The Allsop Arms at 137-143 Gloucester Place, Marylebone. NW1 5AL
  6. UK Patriots 2018 Superbowl Party (SOLD OUT)

Just a reminder that the payment deadline is today and we are going to be over subscribed again this year.
  7. UK Patriots 2018 Superbowl Party (SOLD OUT)

Hi Matt, currently still some space available, 4 spaces if all the probable confirm their places and pay up. I've sent you a PM
  8. Tampa Bay or Denver?

I heard you and Jamie liked to do a bit of big game fishing off the coast of Florida
  9. Gameday Questions

I would agree with most of what Neil has said above, except, being of an overly cautious nature, I would allow a little more time to get to Gillette from downtown Boston, especially if weather looks like it may have any effect on your journey. It may seem that you are getting to the stadium awfully early, but you will find plenty to do, eat & drink (be very careful with alcohol if driving). Wrap up warm and be prepared to do some more tailgating after the game as the other option is to basically sit in traffic and crawl back to Boston. make the most of it and soak up the atmosphere of Sunday night football.
  10. Travel to Boston

Only delay I've ever had at Logan is waiting for Jamie Macrae to arrive on the flight from Manchester via Chicago (cheapskate, going the long way round)
  11. I can highly recommend these Dublin trips. Had a great weekend at the Notre Dame v Navy game 2 years ago. Sorry that we couldn't make this one.

Back home after a great weekend. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in organising any part of the trip, from tickets, to cars, hotels, goody bags etc. And to everyone for making the effort to come along, get involved and celebrate both the Patriots and the UK Patriots.

Boing Boing !! OK OK , I know when I'm not wanted !! MNF - Red Hat Cafe, say around 7:30? Don't be so sensitive How about that bar we were in for Thursday night football 2 years ago. I've no idea what is was called, but it was very close to TD Garden, how I ever got back to my hotel that night I'll never know. MNF at The Red Hat sounds good to me (10 cent wings night again) Friday night at The Pourhouse as usual for Roadtrips

It is one we've frequented on previous trips, along with Whiskeys and the Pourhouse (They're all within staggering distance of each other)

Glad to hear the advance party has arrived safe & sound

Obviously a lot depends on how long you go for, what grade of hotel you use, what else you want to do whilst there and how much you like to eat & drink. This year I reckon my costs excluding Food, drink & Pro-shop spend are about £900. That covers flights, 4 nights accommodation, game ticket, Bruins game ticket, hire car and getting to Heathrow & back. Beyond that the worlds your oyster ( I know someone who spent $800 in shops at Gillette in an hour or so)

So are we planning on the usual Friday night at The Pourhouse then ?

Grecian will be needing an Allen to replace his Mesko one bought on his last roadtrip.
  20. Went to the Emerald Isle Classic last year (Notre Dame @ Navy) and had a blast of a weekend. The Guinness in Dublin sure tastes different. Hopefully SWMBO will be up for another trip across the Irish Sea.

Hey Danny, Myself, Aldo, Grecian & BDD73 are all booked up here for the Friday and Monday nights, so sadly no room in our 4 bed room. I think some of the other guys have booked a 3 bed, maybe you can persuade them to upgrade to a 4 bed. Never in a million years... Aw!! you know you don't mean it Jay Or was that just noise I heard
