UK Patriots 2015 Superbowl Party (FULL)

I'm feeling a bit of a throw about at some point...weather permitting...on the Sunday?

I'm not getting into London until after 1 - engineering works means a replacement bus from Ipswich to Billericay - and I think I'm up to Kentish Town for a late liquid lunch.

Anyone fancying a few pints, I'll probably be in the Southampton Arms from around 3:00, then the Grafton, Tapping the Admiral, pitstop at Honest Burgers, Brewdog and finally ending up at the Euston Tap around 7.

We get down just after 2 so should be able to make the Southampton for 3 ish if that's still on as a starter?

Anyone fancying a Sunday Afternoon pub crawl, I'm thinking of taking in a couple of pubs in Camden/Kentish Town during the afternoon. Likely to be Southampton Arms, Tapping the Admiral and Brewdog - and probably a bite at Honest Burgers - then on to the Euston Tap.

Looks good to me - in for a penny.......

Don't think Camden Town brewery is open on a Sunday is it?

Sadly not, or it would have definitely been on the list.

Have a great time guys, I will make it one of these years... as things stand I am going to be watching it with my mate Kenny (some of you may remember him from the Bucs Wembley game...) which in itself isn't a bad thing, but the only other Super Bowl we watched together never actually happened as I recall. So here's hoping for a better one this time.

Hey all - I know it's full up, but wondering how the bar is for additional areas outside the room you've booked? I'm a big Pats fan in from the States this week and need a place to watch!

When I spoke to them last week to try and get some extra space, I was told that they are fully booked throughout the venue.

However, it wouldn't hurt to give them a call yourself, you never know, something may have changed.

Their number is 020 7723 8890

And if you still need a place to watch, try calling any and all of the Sports Bar and Grills in London, or Bodeans. They both have multiple venues - there may be space at one of them, but I expect they are all pre-book only.

Anyone who's going to be hanging around a railway station waiting for the first train, make sure that you wrap up warm. Sunday-Monday is looking cold.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/weather/11372502/Great-Brrrritain-country-to-shiver-in-sub-zero-Arctic-wind-chill.html

I travelled home after the game once a few years ago. After a couple of hours wait at a freezing Paddington I decided it was a stupid idea and now always book a room!

My room was a present this year so I'm in the travelodge across the road :)

Anyone else getting nervous yet?

Is there any official word of any pre-party gathering(s) around London on either Saturday or Sunday?

The Mrs and I will be in town from Sat morning... thinking Bodeans for Saturday grub!

Pub crawl on Sunday afternoon, finishing around 7.00pm at the Euston Tap. http://ukpatriots.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5750&hl=

If you want London's best BBQ, Pitt Cue is much much better than Bodeans. Can also recommend Dukes Brew and Que in Hackney; good barbecue washed down with Beavertown beer - it doesn't get much better than that.

Yeah it's my first SB party and have decided to get the first (5:45 am) train back "up north". Means I get back to work for the afternoon, but am already dreading those couple of hours wait in the freezing cold on a belly-full of ale with nothing to keep me warm other than the Pats W ! In future I'll plan better and get a hotel!

I can recommend the hotel idea. I am London based but at my age I don't want to be waiting at a cold station. And, with an afternoon check-in, you can even save up a few zzzz's before the match.

I did that a couple of years ago. I see you live in Chesterfield so If your traveling out of St Pancras there is a 24 hr coffe shop which we spent an hour or 2 in to keep out of the cold, whilst waiting for the first train back up to Wellingborough.

I agree with the others though a hotel is the best way to go.

I came in to London for a divisonal game a few years ago (the one where we hammered the Tebow eld Broncos) and tried the waiting around thing. Myself, Mark and acouple of other lulled around, trying to find a 24 hour McDonalds...to very little avail..and froze! Unfortunately it was a Saturday game and the first trains on a Sunday go much later than usual!

Never doing that again!

You could always go to the Hippodrome Casino...open 24 hours....many bars to toast the Pats victory.....got to be better than waiting on a cold platform.

TFL website suggests the 453 bus from Marylebone to Deptford Bridge, then walk. Runs every 20 minutes.

Thankfully, Liverpool Street has one. Large coffee and a sausage muffin I expect.

Cheers Exwaspie,

Do you have that link by any chance? Do you know what time the 453 starts running?

McDonalds is always an option... plus if there are a few of us the wait will be bearable with a mcmuffin and a Pats W ;)

I was going to say the same thing. Just fire up Citymapper which will track your current location, enter your destination and it will tell you the quickest route at that time. It's more accurate than Google Maps, and for example tracks London buses in real time (so it will tell you if there's a bus near the stop you want so you can make sure you don't miss it by a couple of minutes).

Good news is that Marylebone SB&G have scrounged more seats from their other branches. So everyone gets a seat!

Thank you Mark for sorting it all out. Great night as usual.

Just glad everyone finally believed me, that we had nothing to worry about in the end ;)

I was worried after that catch, Lynch 4 attempts from a few yards out...

The interception celebration was something else, you really missed out if you weren't there!

The celebration after that INT was the best I've ever seen!! it was awesome how that place erupted!! First after that catch that shouldn't be made, it was quiet and basically everyone thought 'here we go again'..

Tyree all over again! I was ready to throw in the towel... even after 10 points down I thought that's it to be fair! after our recent "success" in SB's I didn't think we would come back... How wrong was I!

BEST PARTY EVER!!!

Thanks Mark, it was awesome... the food was delicious, even though I couldn't eat a lot as I was simply too nervous. Pre-Party was awesome as well with all you you chaps, really really enjoyed all of it!!

I finally believe you after watching it again.

Thank you Mark for arranging a great night (result and ending may have made it more memorable). Great to spend pre game catching up with some like minded Pats fans. The celebration for the pick was fantastic outburst of joy!

For me, the only slight sadness of the night was that a number of the old crew decided to give this one a miss (not that the newbies were in any way unwelcome). I understand their dislike of the SB&G - it takes a lot for me to nurse a single pint for 4 hours! But the new layout of the Scarlet room is vastly improved, as is the food. The nachos are not bad at all, the burgers are OK, the wings (whilst too hot for some) are at least authentic - plenty of Franks sauce. I'd hit "full" long before the 2am ribs - no smoke, but tasty nonetheless.
I noticed that the manager gave our group a lot of personal attention - we've obviously become known and respected customers.
We've had some great nights at the SB&G - Butt Fumble - and some shockers. But now with a Super Bowl win, there are a lot of us who will happily return there for years to come.

It's certainly better than Bodeans. Also thank you Mark for setting it up.
