So that everyone knows a possible timetable for the weekend ..

The board moderators realise what a massively important weekend this will be for the UKPatriots. Not only in terms of being able to provide a unified set of activities for our members for such an exciting occasion, but also to further enhance our standing with the Patriots organisation as the official representatives of Patriots fans in the UK. Whilst the plans are still very much in their infancy, our hope is to be able to arrange the following "official" activities for the weekend of 23-25 October 2009.

1. Friday: A sit-down dinner for UKP members and guests, with guest speaker(s).

2. Saturday: An open-invite joint party with the UKBucs fan club. This will depend on getting commitment from the Bucs to assist with organisation. Otherwise an evening get-together for Patriots fans in the UK.

3. Sunday: A "relaxed" tailgate for UKP members and guests. We will not be competing with NFLUK's official tailgate. Our primary aim will be a meeting point for people arranging tickets through UKP, and as an opportunity to properly repay the hospitality shown to us on our road trips by our US friends.

There are no plans yet for venue, time, numbers etc. Everything is still in the "idea" stage. We are not currently planning group hotel bookings, but this may develop later. As well as venues and catering, we will also need to considering sponsorship, special guest lists, ticketing arrangements, press coverage etc.

One of the most important things it to get in place the people to organise each event. Our expectation is to have an "event manager" for each activity, with the board moderators overseeing things to ensure there is no conflict across events. I would like to invite you to use this thread to offer any specialist help/expertise in any appropriate area if you can, or you can email the moderators directly at "mods [@] ukpatriots.com".

Please also feel free to use this thread as a bit of a "brainstorm" for ideas. We have some great ideas already, but the more we get, the wider our choices become. Please don't get too trivial and off-topic though. Keep this to real offers of help and sensible suggestions.

There may be the possibility of arranging various other events (I've seen "flag football" and a road-tripper's brunch mentioned), but these would need to be arranged by individuals, rather than be held as an "official" UKPatriots activity.

This is all sounds great and will gladly assist in any way I can, particularly in repaying the hospitality shown by our US friends on this year's roadtrip.

If there's anything I can help out with let me know.

Not being overly proficient on the technology side of things, and as a Carpet Cleaner by trade, I can't see that being of great use.

But I make a good general dogsbody and would be pleased to help out in any way that I can that you deem helpful.

maybe a wembley tour for wembley virgins on the saturday day time if this is possible

Yeah im a Wembley virgin and i would actually be quite interested in that. The possible timetable so far sounds great though i have to say.

Just a quick question about looking for a/ considering a sponsor..... what do we need sponsoring for?? and how much £ would we be looking for??.

A few family members own/co-own businesses and id be more than happy to ask if they would be interested.

Finally as a little side note, im guessing the prices of hotels and anything similar are going to start rocketing so wouldn't it be better to sort that out sooner rather than later??

The mods will know more than me so whatever you think is best really

obviously the schedules for next year haven't been released yet, but assuming that there isn't a fixture clash with the chelsea, would any of the people flying in from the US be interested in going to a football (soccer) game while they are over?

Depending on numbers, fulham might be another more realistic (but obviously less good) option - especially if they still have their US players - i have a contact in their corporate setup who might be able to get bulk tix

Guys, this is a thread for offers of help and ideas related to the official event mentioned in the opening post. Please stay on topic and use another thread for any other activities that you may wish to arrange amongst yourselves. Many thanks.

Good stuff Ade. Happy to help out as much as I can. Finance is my particular area of expertise but could also assist in organisational tasks. From your initial ideas looks like there's a lot to be done !

Sounds like a real good plan.

If the meal is on the friday, will it be late enough to get to after work. Most people arn't from the london area. I'd love too get together with some others and have a meal etc with everyone, for me getting down on the friday wouldn't be a problem as i run my own plumbing firm, but i'm thinking of others. would moving the meal to sat lunchtime give an opportunity for more people to attend. Then we could move onto the bucs fan club meet in the evening.

Have a more informal meet up on the friday.

Only if your struggling to make the numbers on the friday. perhaps a few early feeders would solve that problem.

It's an option. But the problem with Saturday lunchtime might be the difficulty of getting speakers from the Patriots the day before the game. Whilst there are obviously no promises beyond the fact that we will aim to get the best guest list we can, I am aware of Robert Kraft having attended at least 2 fan club functions in the run up to road games this season - we will make sure that invitations go out to Patriots alumni, Herald and Globe journalists....etc etc... heck we have to invite the Sky boys, just so we can feed Halling some prawn sandwiches!

I expect the dinner will be 7.30 for 8.00.

2 rather important questions that have been overlooked;

1. will the Minutemen be coming over???

and more importantly.

2. Are the Pats Cheerleaders coming?:wub::wub:

1. I doubt it because it's a road game.

2. Defnitely and fingers crossed they'll be on Soccer AM

Surely it will only be the Bucs cheerleaders.

In my opinion the Bucs cheerleaders are the hottest cheerleaders in the NFL....maybe its the racy outfits and the fact they are on the sky redbutton all the time in the rain....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Right away for a cold shower...lol

Probably not any chance of it happening but i've just been thinking...... how good would it be if Fitzy was coming over to watch the Pats. Even better if he came to our sit down meal on the Friday. Very wishful thinking by myself

Returning to the original topic of the thread :D I will most likely only be about on the Sunday but willingly offer my services for general labouring and preparation work. I should be able to get there quite early as I only live a little north of London.

Yep, I think as the 'home' team the Buccs cheerleaders will be the ones who turn up

Which is why I was hoping to arrange a joint Saturday party with the Bucs fans who might have contacts some with their own organisation .. Anyone who knows me should have realised there would be some ulterior motive ;)

Unfortunately, unless we need to take a detour to get the tickets from the tailgate - which I am hoping is what is going to happen - I won't be able to contribute with anything but ideas this year. Hopefully, next year though, I will, since I'll have passed the driver's test and got a car by then.

Taking driving lessons in July-August.

For your Saturday night festivities, why not look into booking a function room at say the Sports Cafe, replay old Pats games on some screens and have NASN's NCAA coverage on others?

Edit: Also, as a soon to graduate journalist, if you need anyone to be drafting press releases or any sort of formal stuff, I can assist in that department if need be.
