husky71 31 Report post Posted June 13, 2017 I have looked at hotel costs. Preliminary cost of the Courtyard is $209 + taxes per night for 2 beds in a room. Darrell at the Hampton Inn is offering a definite $109 + taxes per night for 2 beds in a room. I don't see the Courtyard cutting the cost for me in half to match the Hampton Inn but I will see if the Courtyard will do so if the RTers want me to. That weekend is quite expensive for most hotels so the Hampton Inn is a complete surprise to me. Don't even bother to ask me the price of either hotel at Patriots Place. If you want to stay there you are on your own.

AshleyW1987 10 Report post Posted June 15, 2017 I was happy at the Hampton Inn on the previous RT I attended. Thanks in advance Howard if that's the hotel we go with. Is anything likely to be happening downtown for Thanksgiving that weekend?
JonasSWE 1 Report post Posted June 15, 2017 I think Hampton sounds like a good choice as well! And as far as I remember, it was ok too. I think it would be nice if it's possible to arrange some kind of get together on the night before, I only been once before and though it was very nice to meet everybody on game day, I think it is nice for us rookies to meet with the full roster in beforehand. :-) But with respect to everybody's traveling schedules and desire to cram some other stuff in there as well, perhaps that's not possible. I believe this was also up for discussion after last years RT, or if it was the one before that, and I don't know what cane out of it that time. You "old-timers" know each other pretty well by now, us newbies only see the forum names, which in many cases don't say squat. ;-) I even have a number of you guys on FaceBook, and can pair real names with real faces, but I still have problems with forum names. :-)

Climbing isn't my strong suite these days This could become an annual team building exercise. Prizes for the most entertaining idea of getting Jonas across the highway; but only for the return trip after much alcohol consumed. What could possibly go wrong?!
mrs laz 81 Report post Posted June 15, 2017 Depending on when the Bruins game is on, we usually try and arrange something downtown on the Friday night (Pourhouse/Whiskeys), and then something informal at a bar/restaurant local to the RT hotel on the Saturday night. We can start those discussions once the tickets are all confirmed - who fancies volunteering to organize? Ratty, you are good at that sort of shiz!

husky71 31 Report post Posted June 17, 2017 (edited) I do have a contract in hand from Darrell at the Hamption Inn awaiting my signature. The contract provides for 3 rooms on Friday night and 10 rooms for Saturday and Sunday nights, all Double Queen Rooms. Before I sign off on it, I would like to know if any RTers need other accomodations and I will do my best to make that type of room is available. I'm going to increase the number of Double Queen Rooms to 15 with the understanding that any rooms not reserved by the cut-off date (10/25/17) will be released to the general inventory by the hotel. Once the contract is signed, I will be given a "Group Booking Code" to be used to make reservations either on-line or by phone. The hotel's website indicates that there are Single Queen Rooms and Single King Rooms and Accessable Rooms. Jonas - I will reserve an Accessible Room for you. Anyone in need of special accomodations please PM or email me ASAP. Additional information will follow in due course.
